The West Side Rifle & Bow Association is a volunteer-run community range. We collect only what we need to run the club, and we never sell or rent your information.

Who we are
West Side Rifle & Bow Association, 1110 Great Pubnico Lake Road, Pubnico, Nova Scotia. Mailing address: PO Box 218, West Pubnico, Nova Scotia, B0W 3S0. We are a not-for-profit community range. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and how we use it.
What we collect
- Membership applications and renewals: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, firearms licence details (licence number and expiry date), the names of a spouse and children you add, the years you pay for, and your confirmation that you have read the rules.
- Booking requests: your name, email address, phone number, the date and type of booking, the size of your group and any notes you send.
- Contact messages and newsletter sign-ups: your name, email address and the message you write.
- Member portal: messages between you and the association, key and card requests, and the details you choose to update.
- Technical information: your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse of our forms, and the cookies listed below.
Why we use it
- To process your membership, record payment by cheque, and issue your gate key and card.
- To remind you when your membership or firearms licence is due to expire.
- To reply to your questions and to handle bookings.
- To send you club updates, if you subscribed. Every update has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the range and the website safe and secure.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it, rent it or trade it.
Who can see it
Only the association's directors and volunteer administrators who need it to run the club can see member records. We use a small number of service providers to operate the website: our web host stores the website and its database, and an email delivery service sends our emails and sign-in links on our behalf. They handle information only to provide those services. We will disclose personal information if the law requires it.
Your NFA membership is separate. The association is a member of the National Firearms Association, which provides our liability insurance, and the NFA has its own privacy practices.
Cookies and third parties
This site is for people aged 18 and over. We use only the cookies the site needs to work, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
- wsrba_sess: keeps our forms safe from forgery and holds a member's sign-in.
- wsrba_consent: remembers your answer to the cookie notice until you close your browser.
The pages also ask Google for its typefaces (Google Fonts), and the maps on the home and Location pages ask OpenStreetMap for map tiles. Those services can see your IP address when they do.
Signing in
There are no passwords. We email you a one-time sign-in link that expires, and a used link cannot be used again.
How long we keep it
We keep member records for as long as you are a member and for a reasonable time afterwards so the association can keep accurate records. Sign-in links, sessions and form-abuse records are deleted automatically once they expire. If you ask us to remove your information, we will do so unless we need to keep it for a legitimate reason or the law requires us to.
Protecting your information
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, sign-in links are single-use, and access to member records is limited to administrators. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us promptly if you think your account has been misused.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it or stop emailing you. Members can update their own details in the member portal. To make any other request, contact us.
