Rifle & Bow Association
The West Side Rifle & Bow Association was formed in 1988 for the purpose of building and maintaining an outdoor public gun range. The range is for use up to 100 meters. It is an approved range for both hand guns and long guns.
The range has a covered firing line and four shooting benches for long guns. The hand gun section has three stations and a "clothes-line" type target system at 25 yards. The long gun range has target holders set up at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. We have an equipment shed on site. There you will find the target holders, sandbags, targets, spotting scopes, ear protection etc.
All members are given a key that will unlock the gate and the equipment shed. The range is a member of the National Firearms Association. Through them we get out insurance, which covers us against liability issues. We are registered with the registry of Joint Stock Companies as a non-profit society.
The range can be rented on a daily basis or more if needed. The RCMP and the DFO have rented it in the past. The range is open year round and members can use it anytime except when its rented out and closed to the public. There is an outdoor toilet on-site. Used brass must be picked up and put in the suitable pails which are on the firing line.
